This Polyvinyl Alcohol-Iodine filter has no color distortion (neutral) and very good polarization efficiency (99.9%).
The losses are low (38% transmission for unpolarized incident light).
It comes in a width of 17" (43cm) and you can order any length in multiples
of 1 foot (30.5cm) (full roll is 800 ft long = 244 meters).
The transmission axis is parallel to the width. It is 0.006 inch (0.15 mm) thick.
Just $20 per linear foot, hat's only 9 cents/square inch (1 cent/cm2).
